High Desert Sales Inc. was established over 30 years ago by Neal Tesler. Neal entered the retail industry with a wealth of experience, having been immersed in it since childhood. His family boasts a retail lineage spanning three generations, with Neal contributing to the opening of the 99-cent Only Stores in California alongside his uncle. Drawing on this extensive background, Neal embarked on his own venture, founding a food brokerage company headquartered in California.

In 2000, Neal relocated his business, along with his wife, three daughters (Emma, Rachel, and Sarah), and two dogs, to Rhode Island. This move brought him closer to his clientele geographically, facilitating frequent visits to their stores and fostering stronger relationships. Over the ensuing decades, Neal witnessed and actively supported the expansion of numerous customer stores, guiding them from modest beginnings to burgeoning enterprises. His business ethos, deeply rooted in family values, ensured customer satisfaction regardless of their store count.

In the fall of 2023, Neal passed away unexpectedly. Stepping into his shoes, Rachel, his daughter, assumed leadership of the family enterprise. Rachel's formative years were spent in her father's office, instilling in her a strong work ethic from an early age. Progressing from mere greetings to customers and vendors over the phone, Rachel eventually took the reins of the company, further nurturing those vital relationships. Although she had been assisting her father regularly, Rachel formally joined the business in 2016 while pursuing a degree in Environmental Science. Following her graduation in 2019, she realized her passion lay within her father's business. In the ensuing years, Rachel has forged strong bonds with customers and vendors alike, carrying forward her father's legacy of dedication and customer satisfaction.
